I have a scenario. It came to me when I was watching a movie, a movie about bad people who terrorize good people and what should the people do in this situation who are being terrorized and has lost all hope.
A young married woman, was married to a hurtful mean man, and had brothers just like him, who treated her with utter disrespect and used her abominably for cleaning, for cooking and for sexual favor. Her life was so horrible she despaired of ever becoming free of the horrors done to her by these five men who were in her life since her marriage to one of them. She was beaten, forced to feed them, forced into sexual acts with them, forced to clean their clothes, the house, the bedding and anything else they wanted her to do, with no hope of ever being free of it.
One day she found some poisonous weeds in her garden and pulled them out, but did not destroy them as a thought entered her mind that she could free herself from her torment. She could take her own life and be free of the hateful life she was in. She thought long and hard about what she could do and when and made a plan to do it when all the the men would be gone for the day. She would cook herself a nice meal, all her favorite foods, and put the poison weeds in all of it, and sit down and eat of everything she fixed by herself, and when the men came home, they would find her body, but never be able to hurt her again. She thought it would be a pleasure to be able to see their reaction, but she was sure it would be hateful toward her and no kind thoughts would enter their minds about her demise, as they were purely selfish and mean toward her in life.
So the day came when all the men were gone away and she prepared all her favorite foods and added the weed to each dish and cleaned up her kitchen when she was done fixing it and placing it on the table for her to eat. She was so used to obeying what was told her to do, she cleaned the house, put things away, swept the floor and was almost done and ready to eat her meal, when all of a sudden all five of the men burst in, having smelled the food as they returned, and swept down on the table of food and grabbed everything she had made and gulped it down, fighting over the different dishes she had prepared for herself and when they were done, nothing was left, not one little bit of food for her. She had tried to stop them, but they pushed her away, slapped her, and knocked her down as she tried to take the food away from them, but they wouldn't let her near it.
As she watched in awe of what they had done, the men began to have pain and grabbed their stomachs, and reached for something to drink thinking the burning sensation would be appeased with the fluid as it entered their bodies, not knowing that the liquid also was poisonous. One by one, they fell on the floor, trying to stop the pain and crying out and cursing her, and she backed away from them all, running out the door. None followed her. They were unable to get up, and they each died soon after.
Was she guilty of murder? There was no one alive to say yea or nay, only she knew. Would an autopsy show they all died of the same thing, and name the poison that killed them? Would anyone come to the conclusion that she was a murderer because they all died and she didn't, not knowing she didn't get to eat any of the food she fixed for herself. What should she do? Confess what she did and claim she was going to kill herself, not them, and they, as usual, wouldn't listen to her and ate all her food as was usual also, leaving her alive and them dead? Did anyone know how she had been treated by all five of them, every day of her life? Did anyone ever come to see her? Was she all alone in her misery and in her thankfulness for being finally free?
I have no answers. I feel it was a foregone conclusion that it would end this way, because fully evil gets fully punished by evil's own circumstances. God looked down and saw she was being mistreated and allowed the gluttony of the men to take them to their just reward. The End.
