Right Printer, Wrong Ink

When you buy a printer, EcoTank Epson, and put in the ink that came with it; then by mistake put in the wrong ink, you have ruined your printer or so you think. I did this and thought I had ruined it, so got on u-tube and checked all the videos that had to do with using the wrong ink in an EvoTank printer and what could be done. I checked all of them and most said you had to drain the ink, change the maintenance box, and showed how to take it all apart to do this; so I bought the syringes and needles, a maintenance box and prepared to take it apart, but then I searched once more and came across one more video that said 'DON'T DO THAT', don't take it apart and drain all the ink etc from the tanks, lines etc. They said to just keep printing until the ink is out, put in the right ink and keep printing - I had already switched out the maintenance box and put in the new one, so I started printing a colorful copy so that all the ink would be used not just the black. I must have used 40 sheets trying to use up all the ink I could from the color tanks as well as the black one. I just kept printing it over and over and then I switched to a different colorful picture and printed it over and over to see what it would do and I found lines all through it, so I did some maintenance and printed the alignment sheets and others to set up the printing part correctly. I saw broken lines and just kept printing and added more of the proper ink to the tanks as I did. Lots of prints later I had one that was almost identical to the copy I was using, except it had a slightly reddish tint where it should have been brown but no broken lines or wavy lines and all the words looked correct so I accepted that it must be okay now and I saved my printer. I also printed out my bank statements and they looked fine, so I am happy. I was going to sell it to my neighbor who wanted to do sublimation things, but now I don't have to sell it and buy a new printer. All the u-tubes also said if you are planning on doing sublimation, you should start with a brand new printer EcoTank and start out with sublimation ink first in it not the ecotank ink to just change it over to a sublimation printer. Simple enough and better for what you want to use it for.
