JOB, a Faithful Servant

Have you read the book of Job? Job was the richest man in his part of the world. He had many children, a wife, friends, land, cattle, and sheep and homes for all his family, and money.  He didn't want or need anything, because God had blessed him mightily for his faith in Him.

Then one day,  God was talking to Satan and asked him if he had regard for Job, his faithful servant.  See how he lived and how he progressed.  Satan said to God, that God himself kept him protected from everything, from all ills, and troubles, unlike some others.  So God said in all fairness, he would allow Satan to do his best to change Job by changing all his circumstances, 'do what you will, but do not kill Job" God said and Satan said fine.

From that day onward, Satan caused all the bad things that happened over time to Job. He lost his children to sickness and death and wars with others;  he lost his cattle and sheep to thieves and hunters and natural disasters;  he lost his land also, and when Job still had faith in God, Satan caused Job to have boils all over his body and Job sat in the gateway scrapping his boils and praying. Job's wife told him to curse God and die but he wouldn't. His friends came and talked with him and tried to convince him that he must have done something really terribly wrong for God to curse him like this and Job said No, he neither did anything wrong  and God didn't curse him. Job tried to convince his friends that what he was going through was not from God and he was right.  So finally Satan gave up trying to get Job to curse God for his troubles, and he left him alone. So then God rewarded Job with many more children, much more land, and lots more sheep and cattle more than he had before and many riches and good health. His faith in God's goodness was rewarded ten fold.
