Soul, Spirit, Body, Religions, etc.

I had written a piece on the soul and spirit, in answer to a comment someone made, but it has disappeared from my computer, from FB, and from anywhere else it may have been. I was talking about the soul and the spirit as the woman had mentioned you don't own your soul, so you can't sell it.  I was  under the impression that it is the Spirit you don't own, because it is God's and returns to him upon the death of the body.  My impression is that the soul is your mind, your feelings, your beliefs, your emotions and it is the part that goes into death with your body and God can resurrect it to either enter Heaven or Hell.

As the saying goes, "May God have mercy on your soul" when a person is buried.  But then I read an online article that argues for the belief that the soul and the spirit are one and the words, soul and spirit are interchangeable in the Bible and they gave many illustrations of such.  I don't believe our actual body, buried-rotted, cremated, or burned up in explosions etc gets resurrected, but the soul does and is joined by the immortal body that Christ gives us, the spiritual body that does not die, does not get sick, does not hurt when the Spirit joins with the soul in the Spiritual body. These are those whom God takes up in the Rapture.

My first inclination was that the soul (mind, feelings, beliefs, emotions) being a part of the evil in this world, could not go to Heaven but is sent into Hell and this could be true if those who have not accepted  Christ, believed in Him, their soul will not be joined by the Spirit, so that they cannot enter Heaven or the Kingdom of Heaven and because we are told we will know our relatives, recognize them, in the Spiritual body, there has to be a soul for the Heaven and for the Hell as we are told also that you will burn in Hell for eternity if you reject Jesus/Holy Ghost.  That article I read never mentioned the soul going to Hell but if we are to believe that it is a horrible place to be and full of hurt and pain, then the soul which is that part of us that has feelings, mind, emotions, it seems fitting that the soul is separate from the Spirit.

One more thing I mention is this:  God said when he made man, he was to make him in their image, meaning there was more than one involved, which I believe is 'the word, who became Jesus on earth, and the Holy Ghost, the spirit of God, and God himself, the Trinity, 3 persons in one. So we are 3 in one also, we are spirit, we are soul, and we are body.  It makes the most sense. One more thing, Hell is supposed to be a place that God is not - God is light - Hell is dark -  God gives us Love,  Hell is full of hate.

I will post more on religions in the next post;  There are or were many different ones with different views and it is no wonder we are confused sometimes today. But keep Christ in your heart. You will be safe.
