Salvation is by faith, not by works. Having rules, laws, regulations to follow does not save you, only faith in Jesus Christ saves. If you require rules, regulations, rituals, etc for salvation, then Christ's death is in vain. Long dresses, hair worn a certain way is not for salvation, but it may show other's that you are set apart from the norm. It is not a requirement for salvation to be different but to draw others to Christ through goodness, kindness, compassion, and if dressing a certain way helps you to be a more loving kind person and less likely to fall into the works of the flesh, then it is for you. Not everyone needs to dress so circumspectly, for their are many examples of godliness in people who look dirty, filthy, unclean or unshaven, long hair, or poor and in rags. It is not the outward person, but the inner person that is counted, not the outward look but the inner actions of people that lead us to Christ.
GALATIANS 5: 19-23 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, sedition, heresies, envying's, murders, drunkenness, revellings and such like; of which I tell you before as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, against such there is no law. 9 fruits of the Spirit 17 plus works of the Flesh.
